Karen Conniff

Karen taught basic entomology to agriculture students in Africa, trained farmers in Nepal on pesticide use, began a pesticide residue-testing program in Nepal, and has been an amateur insect collector and observer for many years. Karen has been involved with the production of a new "Photographic Guide to the Dragonflies of Sri Lanka", and a more detailed guide to the Dragonflies of Sri Lanka. She has been photographing species to document locations and provide information for a mapping project conducted by Matjaz Bedjanic. She has also helped the Wildlife Conservation Society in Galle with identification and sighting information for a poster and location records in the Galle district. She has photographed two rare Gomphid species that had been overlooked on a small irrigation canal near Colombo.
