Dan Powell is a Hampshire born naturalist and wildlife artist. Recently his Guide to the Dragonflies of Great Britain was published. He also illustrated a book on Barn Owls and some of the plates from Parrots: A guide to the Parrots of the World.  His artwork has been exhibited worldwide – the most prestigious being at “La Pedrera” Barcelona. In 1995 he won the Artist for Nature Foundation Award and was British Birds Bird Illustrator of the year in 1996. His other interests include birds, butterflies, photography, sedges and curries!  He has been leading our dragonfly tours to Bulgaria with Stoyan Beskov since 2005, as well as our Sri Lanka tours with Karen Conniff.
